Advice solicitation: All day my classmates in my sales class have bounced emails around about how bad yesterday was. There’s been much buzz about what course of action we should take to remedy the situation. I’ve voted for going to the MBA office and asking for the Executive Director to sit in one of our classes to get a first-hand look at how bad the instruction is. Another guy thinks we should politely converse with the teacher 1-on-1 and tell him our frustrations. I think that the guy is too full of himself to accept creative criticism and will punish those who are negative by hurting their participation grades (30% of our final). What’s your opinion?

I'm posting here rather than the earlier one... there is power in numbers. I would encourage everyone to call the dean and complain and request his unannounced presence at a class to audit it. Good luck with this. Sorry to hear it's so frustrating!
Yes, definitely power in numbers. The more that get in on the complaints, the more likely it is to have an effect.
What would be the best is to bypass the dean altogether, and find some type of high-end school booster that can get involved. Schools can be notoriously difficult to change, but if you threaten their money, it's remarkable what you can accomplish.
Dude, I'm with you...I think he could hurt your grade....participation is so objective that there's no way he could prove either way why he gave you the grade he did. And you can't really prove it either unless you start tallying your comments....which you might want to start doing if you do talk to the teacher first..haha
