Can't afford gas?

A scary, but insightful, article on what would happen if gas went to $10.

A more smile-inducing article on air-powered cars (yes, you read that right) .

The e.volution made in france makes more sense to me then the nitrogen powered car made in the US. I would like to see some of these air powered cars hit the streets soon. Maybe we could avoid those $10 gas prices. :)

Very informative-Thanks!

I wish we had public transportation, like a train system. I would love a train or subway. I would totally ride it to work!

Actually, I would think the $10 gas prices would cause air powered cars to be more popular.

This article is somewhat doomsday... I'm a believer in equilibriums. When something happens, it isn't an additive effect. You don't just stop driving, or planes just park somewhere. Stuff constantly adjusts to account for this.

Some things I thought of... we'd telecommute more. If I were to telecommute 1-2 days a week, that would cut gas 10-20% probably. Instead of on demand pizza delivery, we'd maybe pre-order and then the could deliver all in one swoop. People are innovative.

IMO, the way things get screwed up is if you over subsidize one thing (think corn!). Then the equilibrium doesn't take over and stuff isn't optimized.
