Finally!

Last night Jim and I went to Best Buy and bought our new TV- a Toshiba DLP 50”. Between that purchase, the new HD cables, the savings we got from upgrading to HD Cable through BB and the extended warranty we had just enough money left over from that contest's winnings to buy Dairy Queen to celebrate! The TV is going to come in on Thursday and Jim’s taking the day off to receive it and make more progress on painting our barn. After 10 months of no television bigger than 19” this is going to be great! I expect we’ll overdose on movie watching all next week.

That's fabulous, Karen, great news. My only news is I can bake great pies. ane eclairs. and scones. and bread. and I can apparently make and plate "perfect" duck with biragade sauce, sauteed veggies and lentils.
Did everyone catch on that Karen wants to celebrate her bday on 9/29?? (I thought your bday was the 30th though).

I have been cooking some amazing foods recently (a little odd, though, to have walnut crusted halibut with a beurre rouge sauce, pommes anna, and gorgeous provencale veggies confit FOR BREAKFAST (where's egg cookery?).
I hope you are enjoying your TV! I'm still on the same TV I received when I was 20. And yet to get a DVD player, still using the ole VHS.
BTW, darling, just b/c I live across the country doesn't mean I forgot people bdays! I didn't block my mind of Cincy things THAT quickly.
