Wisdom

My co-worker Ruth’s having a bad day so she went to Wendy’s and bought the office Frostys. Some people channel their frustration in such positive ways. I need to learn from her.

SHE's have the bad day and SHE's the one buying a round of Frosty's?!?? Go her!

When I have a bad day, I like to bake. And then the next day my officemates get the benefit from my baking. Otherwise I would gain weight from eating too much baked goods and then every day would be a bad day for me.

I love it! I know there are times when my workplace did things that I didn't think was the best for employee morale (worst example: tell ALL employees, even the half guaranteed off the saturday before christmas that they are required to work that day...and tell them about 2 days before. not because of a need, but inform them that we will be closed christmas eve, and therefore we must work that saturday to make up for it. note: this was not up for discussion or negotiation.) On that day, and other similar days, I always showed up with Starbucks or bakery goods for everyone...In that example I was in the group that already knew for over a year I was working that day, so I felt the others who'd just been screwed over deserved at least a token of appreciation/ spread a little christmas spirit for showing up...But I've never done it when *I* was the one disappointed/screwed over/whatever..that's just impressive!

I'm laughing at Trey's response - Frosty's (and chocolate) have the ability to make everything better!
