Taking Nature into my own hands

So the longest pregnancy on record was 375 days (280 is normal) according to an article in Time .

I broke down and moved my OB appointment from Thursday to tomorrow at 11:00. I'm going to see a doctor i haven't seen before so I’m not sure if that'll work in my favor or against when it comes to inducement. I feel guilty moving nature along medically but I want this kid to be old enough and stable enough to travel and I want jim to be able to stay at home with me for a few days (this is his busiest time of the year).

I also feel sorta guilty for wanting to be induced because I'm not uncomfortable at all. I still have good energy, I don’t think I'm any bigger, and the air conditioning is keeping me cool. I guess we’ll see tomorrow what they say…

how was it "quite impossible" that she had a miscarriage and a second pregnancy? From the description of the pregnancy(ies), that is EXACTLY what it sounds like!!Totally not enough data to convince me that it is true. Did you notice the article is from 1945?
Even still. I guess it's always good to get a "second opinion". You're less than a week overdue and you're feeling great and apparently good energy.
Out of curiosity, I remember your due date being moved (quite common). What was your original due date, and how were both your due dates calculated?

First date (7/7/07) was based on the date of my last period. Second date (7/4/07) was based on the ultrasound.

because i'm less than a week overdue i'm not sure if they'll let me be induced now or not...

So if the date of 7/7 was more accurate, you're only 2 days over. :) What's a couple days out of 9+ months?
Many doctors would have scheduled one for 2-3 weeks ago if you wanted. Then again, some doctors only do it when it's "needed" rather than "wanted", so I guess it does depends on your docs.

I think that its okay that you want to be induced. I'm still hoping you will go into labor on your own...

I will laugh if you go naturally by Thursday. :)
I wonder how soon they will schedule inducings. Obviously if it's NEEDED, but if it's wanted, can you go in one day and get it the next?

all these people that were out of the office last week are taking FOREVER to follow up with me today on all my requests.

I guess a birthday of the 11 or 12th would be better than Friday the 13th!!

And if she's born on the 11th, then she will share her birthday with Christina!

Kendall wouldn't induce you until you were a week over due. And he wants to know if you tried the old fashioned method of inducing? *AHEM*

We'll be around this week if you need entertaining....

I was over two weeks late and my mom keeps on telling me that "the whole thing" only took about 7 hours. What's "the whole thing" - I didn't dare ask. But I know it included driving down the mountain in a snowstorm in the middle of the night. I am a winter baby.

One old wives tale is that births increase when there is a drop in barometric pressure. So if you have a storm system moving through, maybe that'll bring Nicole out!

I still think you should hold out until the 19th...that's a very good day to be born.

I can't believe I didn't post yesterday - I got kind of a chuckle out of this post because it seems like you're trying to have Nicole arrive on your schedule. I know you know, however, that once she's around, you're going to have to deal with things as they come, and not when you would like to...
