Our grass is TALL but we don't own a lawn mower yet. Seizing the opportunity to catch Nicole's first experience sitting in the grass, I grabbed the camera and found myself morphing into The Meanest Mom on the Planet.
I'm sorry but she was being so sissy about touching the lawn that I had to laugh.
Here she is in the tallest part of the yard. She held her hands close to her body so she didn't have to get near the grass. You can tell who she wants to rescue her since her mother clearly wasn't willing to do anything for her.

You are right, that IS really funny, doesn't make you the meanest mom on earth either. You are teaching her to not be one of THOSE girls who won't do anything because there would be danger of chipping a fingernail! :) The first picture is really cute!
And I thought I was a mean mom :-)
That is hilarious. some day she'll learn that April grass is THE most lush grass and you won't be able to keep her from running barefoot in it....
Ha! Too funny!!!!
I agree, you're not a mean mom - we get a kick of of freaking the cats out about things once in a while, but it's all in the spirit of keeping them stimulated and therefore healthy. :-)
wait wait wait...what is UP with that cock-eyed cap? Are you trying to turn her into a midwestern thug?!?
You don't own a mower? I assumed you would have had one from the previous house (or did you not have a yard there, I never saw it in daylight to know....for all I know you had enough you could get by with just weedwacking it!)
The picture was taken around 7:30 at night and the sun was setting in her eyes. I'm just trying to block the rays! :)
oh, and we sold our old mower with the other house. Jim somehow conned me into getting a brand new one (which should be purchased this weekend, we're borrowing dad's in the mean time)
Where was 'dada' and why didn't he come to the rescue??
She looks so cute in the first pic!!
see? You're not the meanest mom. :) The MEANEST mom would have made her baby squint in the sun - and then think it was cute.
Oooh, Jim is a smart man. :) New house = new yard = new mower! Brilliant plan, Jim. And they say women are the manipulative ones. ;)
This cracked me up! Mostly because of how terrified she was whenever her hands touch the grass. Maybe there was actually a small animal living in there that you couldn't see that was scaring her. I mean, the grass IS tall enough!
I totally laughed at this one. Man, what a girly girl you have there. :-D
Yeah, where was Jim... you'll show Niki that video one day and she'll ask that very question.
Poor little thing will be traumatized for life!
