Kid Update

How your baby's growing: Your baby's hit the 2-inch mark (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce. Her face is beginning to look more human. Her eyes, which started out on the sides of her head, have moved closer together on her face, and her ears are near their final positions on the sides of her head. Your baby's intestines, which have grown so rapidly that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into her abdominal cavity about now. Her kidneys are secreting urine into her bladder. Her nerve cells have been multiplying rapidly, and synapses (neurological pathways in the brain) are forming. Your baby may have acquired more reflexes by now, including sucking, and she'll even squirm if you prod your abdomen, though you still won't be able to feel her movement for several weeks.

Karen's Take: My breasts have been replaced by cantalopes and I hear it's only going to get worse. Sometimes they hurt just existing. I've taken to full-time sleeping in a sports bra and that's a huge help. The prospect of buying all new bras is not a happy thought. The reality that they might not go back to their normal size is starting to sink in already...

Other than that, I physically feel great. Eating Spree candy in the car was a big help for the first leg of our Van Wert Christmas trip yesterday. And- bonus!- 15 of them constitutes a serving and that's only 50 caleries!

At least I'll know what to expect based on yours, and frighteningly enough, mine are probably the same size as yours and I'm NOT pregnant.....I hope they stop growing too! My friend Brooke used to wear sports bras too. She even wore them during the day. I have other friends that say they slept in a nursing bra for over 9 months after baby....ugh...the things we do for kids...

Cantalopes... hmmm. I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but it won't get better... :-( I hope they stop growing, but good luck with that. I have to sleep in a bra every night (it totally sucks) because it's uncomfortable and not to mention the leaking issues. We'd be changing the bed EVERY day. I've got enough kid laundry to do as it is!

P.s I'm glad things are going so well for you with this pregnancy! You're so lucky and I hope it keeps going that way!
