Pleasantly Surprised... at least so far

Much to my pleasure, Obama has been doing and saying things that I agree with. While Pelosi doesn’t care for his extension of tax cuts for the rich (ironically something he said was going to happen right away and will now likely be pushed off until 2010), it doesn’t bother me one bit. I haven’t heard anyone, myself included, complain about the pay freezes he put on Washington and I think doing so sent out the right message to the country.

Yesterday, Yahoo! News published the following article: Obama calls $18B in Wall St. bonuses 'shameful'. Mr. President, I couldn't agree more.

:-) I'm just glad that there's a president who is keeping his promises for a change. :-D

i think it's waaayyyy too early to give him credit for that. In fact, one of my three examples is him going not fulfilling something he campaigned on just a few weeks ago.....

In my opinion - I don't care if he keeps his promises or not (there is already a web site tracking that stuff). Whether he does or not to me is more politics of having to say things to get elected which everyone does.

I'll measure Obama more on his ability to turn this economy around and our stance in the world. If he has to break promises to do this - all the better - I won't hold it against him - I'd rather have someone do the right thing than be stubborn and plow through their agenda without reacting. In fact I like how Bush senior went form saying "no new taxes" to figuring out we had to raise them or we'd be where we are today. Politically he got burnt for it but it was the right thing to do with the info - Americans are just too short-minded to see the benefits of slowing or reducing the national debt. I heard that Bush Jr's tax cuts have cost us trillions of dollars which would be nice to have reduced the debt or to have to put into stimulus in recessions such as these.

Is it possible for Obama to remove Nancy Pelosi from office? I think Obama in general is doing a better job of trying to find a middle ground.

I like that he has some good ideas and has started out on the right foot.

The rest of the world is in general thrilled to have him as our president, from what I have heard from my international community. :)

GOBAMA GO! :) It's interesting to me how excited the rest of the world seems to be about him. But is it really him, or did everyone just hate GW that much?

And I still want to know if I got a letter assigned on your phone. :P
