Top 10: MOVIES

I've been thinking about movies lately and if I could pinpoint my TOP 10. Here's a stab that I came up with on the drive into work. These are in no particular order

  1. Gone in 60 Seconds
  2. Oceans 11
  3. Traffic
  4. The Wizard of Oz
  5. The Proposal
  6. The Notebook
  7. Overboard
  8. Sweet Home Alabama
  9. Forrest Gump
  10. 10 Things I Hate About You

Thinking about this more today (Thursday) I think I'd replace Traffic with Dirty Dancing.

I figured you would have replaced 'Overboard' (weak movie) with 'Almost Famous' given how much you liked it.

I haven't seen four of those: Traffic, The Proposal, The Notebook, and Overboard. Now I think I need to see them!

oh my gosh- are you serious!? you haven't seen The Notebook?! Wow!

once upon a time i owned Traffic... i'll try to track it down.

OH, and Jim, I do like Almost Famous but it's not a Top 10, just a surprisingly good movie. Overboard, while not the best quality, is a classic.

I'd put Meet the Robinsons in my top ten. I cry EVERY TIME that movie ends! I love that he finds a family!

I am amazed that a few classics got missed. I know I am showing my age, but here is my list:

(sorry more than 10)

Gone With The Wind
West Side Story
Titanic
A Summer Place
It's A Wonderful Life
Back To The Future
The Firm
The Verdict
A Few Good Men
Apollo 13
Star Wars Trilogy (1977 to 1981)
Pretty Woman
Ghost
Forrest Gump
Big
The Rookie (I relate to this one)
The Natural (This one too...)

If you have not seen some of these, they were very well done and might be worth a look even though they are older.

It is a good list, although I haven't seen Gone in 60 Secs, Traffic, The Wizard or the Notebook (I read the book, that's I why I don't want to see the film).

What about Notting Hill, Love... Actually and My Girl?

The goofiest of my favorite movies is True Lies. I loved that when I was younger. The best line is when Arnie's daughter is hanging out a figher jet that is hovering infront of a skyscraper (out of which it had just blasted the 47th floor or so), gripping her dad's hand and he says "Hold on tight." His accent kills me!
