Doug

As many of you know, Jim’s parents (mom and stepdad) drive a semi truck for a living. In a stoke of amazing convenience they were actually in Florence, KY on Tuesday morning when Doug was stuck by a heart attack. He has had 2 stints already put in as well as an angioplasty done. They determined yesterday that he’ll need triple bypass surgery on either Monday or Tuesday. Normally they’re in Arizona or California or someplace far when this happens, so being just 40 minutes down 75 is a fluke of good luck.

Anyway, we’ll be headed down there today to pick up Vickie and have her spend the night. Timing could get goofy with Mike’s wedding this weekend (means our schedule is 3X as busy as normal) and shuttling her to KY and back. We’ll work it out though.

This might put them here in Cincinnati as much as 5 months post surgery while he recovers. We’re already planning how to work this out – potentially moving them into our old house so they can settle in and have their own space. More news to follow as we know it.

Wow, I hope he does well. Ya'll are in my prayers.
So it may be the stars aligned just so, to explain why you didn't sell your house...you can keep it to help them out, and then return it to the market at a prime time in the spring (versus trying to sell it in Fall/winter). :)

Karen, best wishes to Doug. He's a great down to earth guy, met him at your wedding. I also call him the human GPS, remember back when I was wondering the best route to go from Lima to Milwaukee, and Jim calls him, and off the top of his head he gives me 3 routes and when the best time to take each route was.

Wow, sorry to hear of your FIL. I agree with Martha. Sounds like fate.

Thoughts and prayers for Doug and Vickie. I second Martha's point as well.

Let us know what we can do to help. Even if it's just help getting some furniture back in the old place for them to use. We have a couple of things.

We'll be thinking about you. I'll call you tomorrow.
