Outfits, Deer, & Lyrics

1. I’ve dressed up for work every day this week. Doesn’t sound important (and it’s not really) except that I'm doing so when I don’t have to. If no clients are coming in or I'm not out to see them, jeans, sneakers and a polo are perfectly acceptable attire for the office. Know what though? It takes no more effort to put on a pair of dress pants than it does jeans. I’d argue that my dress pants are more comfortable than jeans. Heels versus gym shoes, no comparison, but stilettos look so much better! Further, I feel more confident in a skirt and I might just be more productive wearing one.

2. I mentioned that the developer mowed down our “meadow” and I lost well-over half of my butterfly population. Well, what the trim has done is bring back the deer. We watched a doe this morning have breakfast in “our” back “yard”.

3. I don’t like the song “Waiting for the World to Change” by John Mayer. Here are some of the lyrics:
Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

IRRATATING. How the heck can you validate that it’s okay to sit around and do nothing but WAIT? Why isn’t the concept of “get off your ass and do something about it” being encouraged? This reminds me of the idiots who’ll blindly vote for Obama because of his campaign slogans of “It’s Time For a Change!”, even if they don’t know what he stands for. (That isn’t a slam against Obama, just the general public.)

I enjoy dressing up to. Today is my first down day in awhile, I am wearing coordroy's and a polo. I wore a skirt the last two days...

Oh and I believe dressing up will be more fun next week when I have that walk-in closest to look through for clothes and dress in!

HAHAHA - Jen's walk in closet comment makes me laugh.

I never wear a skirt to work. :( I can't, just in case I go into the plant. I don't even go into the plant every month, however, I don't necessarily know in advance that I will be in there. Same reason for not wearing heels, however, I have an exception at the moment for wearing gym shoes.
Today I'm wearing green cargo pants. But they are Ralph Lauren - does that tag make them any "dressier"? ;)

Oh, and I think it's hilarious that you made it very clear you were NOT slamming Obama....just "the general public", as if it's better to slam the masses following one person, rather than the one person.

Speaking of Obama yesterday I heard a segment on OPB that blacks should not vote for Obama. If Obama wins then that will, according to the broadcast, set back black equality movements. Ironically I would think that it would show progress, but the concern is that any movements would come to a halt.

Sounds like crap to me! Lets see, what are some potential arguments: Must be a racist country - we didn't vote a bi-racial man into the white house. Or: oh, blacks are equal in America - look, we even have a bi-racial president; no more discussions.
I get iritated when people use race as a sole or primary reason TO vote for or NOT TO vote for a person, regardless of their or other candidates' platforms. Funny how it's wrong to not vote for someone based on race, but it's okay to vote for them for that very reason alone. Same is true for gender, but thankfully - for other reasons - Hillary is out of the race, so that is not an issue at this time.

I love seeing deer in our backyard but we have also had the pleasure of looking out the window to see foxes on occasion :-)

I just don't think that "get off your ass and do something about it" has quite the same musical quality as "waiting on the world to change". Where's your alliteration? It's just not as catchy.

Maybe if you altered the phrase for musicality. Could you sing it to a tune? Then I might be able to better determine if it really has the potential to hit number 1 on the pop charts...

:P

I think it's great you see deer. I like deer, and thought it's especially fun when they came into our yard growing up. I probably prefer deer over butterflies any day. :) Any photos for video of the deer snacking in your yard?

For my first day back I totally wanted and did wear a skirt that I haven't been able to wear for a long while. It was nice to not be wearing something maternity for a change. :-D
